This list may not be in the
order in which you want to obtain your
equipment. Most new members want to buy their
Jacket first. The sequence of items in the
list reflects the quantity and type of loaner
gear available and how visible a piece of
equipment appears. We have a few extra
uniforms, but very few extra rifles. Use
common sense when buying new gear. Get your
shoes and musket first, and as soon as
possible thereafter the rest of your uniform.
You may get some of your
gear from the Sutlers; usually shoes, rifle,
blankets, belts, etc.. However, your uniform
will have to be ordered through the mail to
get the one of the correct type. New members
should NEVER, NEVER, NEVER go to the
Sutlers to buy equipment without an officer
or one of the NCO's from the 14th.
The Sutlers are not familiar with our
standards and may try to sell you something
incorrect for the impression our unit
portrays. Ordering through the mail takes
longer, but you have a wider selection and
may get a better price.
If you already have
equipment, check with the unit commander
before replacing all your gear. As long as
you have authentic reproductions, existing
outfits & traps will probably be allowed
with only a few modifications. As equipment
wears out, replace it with gear conforming to
these guidelines.
