Almost a thousand men formed the eleven companies that made up the Fourteenth Tennessee Infantry. The regiment used the Fairgrounds located in the vicinity of Dunbar Cave as its temporary headquarters. This was known as 'Camp Duncan.' The organization of the regiment was completed with the selection of the following field and staff officers:
