Good evening Lucinda and all of the children I am well and hope when these lines reach you they will find you all the same I have received my bounty to day and enclose ninty five dollars in this letter and send it home by Mr Haskall you will get Mr Fowler to pay that note which will be Interest and all somewhare about Fifty two dollars the rest you can use to pay up the bills about town pay Capt Sisson and Jones I suppose that is all the store bills you can pay the slip rent if you are a mind to pay F W Brainard two dollars and ninty seven cents I believe it is then you will have some left I guess be as prudent of it as you can when Mr Smith pays you you will have enough to keep you along some time when you write pleas write what you have paid and how much money you have left I sent home three pictures of myself which I suppose you have received before this time and one for H D Chapman which you will send to his wife if you have not we have received marching orders for Thursday morning at 7 Oclok I do not know whare we are going but will writ to you and let you know when we get to our destination our Company,s letter is C. the color Company of the regiment if we ever go into battle we shall ocupy the most dangerous position in the Regiment as the rebbels will try to shoot down the flag, you of cours will not write untill you heare from me againe then give me all of the news and the particulars about the money matters which I have wrot you dun Bob Fowler for that dollar and be sure and get it so Good night my love to you and the children & Respects to all enquiring friends from your Husband
