I now take this opportunity to write you a few lines in answer to your long well writen and interresting letter  It was full of news was glad to get it would like such an one every week from you and oftener if you feel disposed to write.  I have no news to write but will write something just to fill up the sheat,  I believe Horatio wrote you a letter some time ago that you  have not answered inasmuch as he complied with your request in writing to you   I think it would be no more then politeness for you to answer his letter so try it and see if you cant give him a tip top letter now it wont hurt you at any rate to try, I sent you a dollar somtime since in a letter I should think it was the one that you received the Friday eve before you sent this last letter but as you did not say anything about it I dont know as you got it if you did just say so, you want to know if my friend is hansom and will come up with the Moodus boys I will send you his picture as I happen to have one  I dont call him hansom though but he is a good fellow and I have always liked him since I have been in the army he was always in our company till this winter he was promoted to Lieu’t of Co A I showed him your first picture that you sent me and he wanted I should give it to him but I though I could not spare:  so I wrote for another one that is all there is about it  Accept my love and lots of kisses give Mother part of them and Edgar & Frank a few if they want any  Must close so good day From your Father A.C.
