Dear Wife

I have now taken my pen in hand and will make a feeble attempt to answer your welcom letter of March 27th which came to hand yesterday morning only five days on the road from Moodus to Cowan Tenn that is one day quicker then I have ever had one come before.  I cant account for it any other way only that my dear daughter Ella was aboard and she was in a hurry to see her Father so she hurried the letter along, Your letter found me well and still remain the same to day, and I hope this will find you and the children all enjoying the same great blessing  There is a train of cars going past now loaded full of Soldiers bound home I presume on a Furlough probably have reinlisted  It is a pleasant day here to day but we have had very bad weather here of late it has rained about every other day for the last month so it kept it mudy all of the time  I received the stamps owed two of them so shall have but two left after this letter goes  Tell Edgar & Frank to be good boys and mind their Mother  Frank must go to school this summer and learn to write so he can write me a letter  Edgar you must write to me

A.C.S.
