Dear Wife

I now seat myself on a log, not to answer any of your letters for I have not received a letter from you very lattely the last letter that I had from you was dated the 1^st of May  I have looked every mail for one but have not got it yet. The Mail does not come very regular now days, after I write this I dont know as I shall have a chance to send it at presant but thought would write a few lines to let you know how I am getting along. I am well and all right as yet but how long I shall remain in this condition is hard to say, but my prayer to God is that I may be spaired if it is his divine will to once more return to my family and friends all safe. I am willing to put my trust in him who doeth all things well. I hope when this reaches you it will find you all in
