Dear Wife
I have just received your letter this morning dated March 3rd was glad to receive it and to hear that you wear all well. I am well and hope these few lines will find you and the children all enjoying the same great blessing. I found in your letter this morning some pills there was three whole ones amongst the lot the rest was pretty well chowdered up, but however I guess that I can use them I was very glad of them for once in a while I see the nead of something of the kind. I got a paper with a Mr Adams,es name on the top of it I did not know whether you sent it or not for I could not make out the mail mark on it and I thought it was not yours or Georgies hand writing on the wrapper but when I first got it I thought it was from you and that sombody had taken the pills out, And I wished them rather of a bad wish I wont tell you what it was hear for it would not look well on paper. I am glad you have got your money from the State and I hope before this time you have received ten dollars in a letter from your old man and there is also ten dollars more on the road some whare and I will also start ten dollars more in this letter so when you get the whole of it that is if it all comes through safe you will have enough to settle up all your bills and have some left after you get the three ten dollar notes from me this time pay every cent that you owe and let me know how much you have left. How is the paint on the house is it all off or not. I dont know but it had ought to be painted this spring you find out by Jo Clark or sombody else how much oil and zink paint is worth this spring and let me know right away and ask Jo if he will paint it if I conclude to have it done this spring, you spoke about living a little [closter] you nead not scrimp your self at all live just as you are amind to only keep inside your income that is all: about Georgies going away to live I wrote to you in a letter before this that I had rather she would stay at home and got to school then to go away to live and I still holde to that mind and I want you and herself both to see that my wish is carried into affect so dont say any more about her going away but see that she goes to a good school this summer. What do you think about Edgar workeing to Mr. Smiths this summer have you seen him yet about it if he dont want him perhaps Sylvester Williams will hire him if you see him in season. I was glad to receive a few lines from Edgar but should like to had him wrote more he must be a good boy he said that he went to the sabbath school that I was glad to hear he and they all must go and try and be good children then they will be loved by everybody. It is pleasant here to day a little windy though, night before last it rained powerful all night was clear yesterday rained again last night but is clear to day Georgia wishes to know if we have any snow down this way do not much all we have had this winter whare I have been would not make over one inch but we have had some very cold weather, must close
From your Affectionate Husband & Father A.C. Smith
