Privte Arthur Boardman was the first from Cromwell, Ct. to enlist with Rifle Co A, 3rd Ct. Reg. from April 25 - August 12, 1861. He served at First Manassas / Bull Run. Arthur enlisted a second time on August 11, 1862 with Co K, 20th Ct. and served for the remainder of the war and attained the rank of 1st Lt. by the time he mustered out on June 13,1865.
